Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is hiring a Sales Assistant for its Baby City store at Table Bay Mall in Cape Town, Western Cape. This permanent retail role focuses on delivering strong customer service, maintaining well stocked shelves and supporting smooth point of sale operations in a busy baby and childcare retail environment. Job Overview And Responsibilities

• Assist customers with product selection and provide excellent service
• Maintain stock levels and ensure shelves are fully stocked and organised
• Report low stock, damaged stock and expired products to management
• Assist with stock counting, stock takes and general inventory checks
• Load and offload stock when required
• Ensure products are displayed correctly with accurate pricing and labelling
• Support promotional setups and ensure marketing materials are correctly displayed
• Remove promotional stock and signage after campaigns end
• Handle cash, card and voucher payments accurately at point of sale
• Process loyalty cards and customer transactions correctly
• Maintain strong product knowledge to assist customers effectively
• Resolve customer queries and report complaints or compliments to management
• Ensure merchandise is handled carefully to prevent losses
• Support general housekeeping and store presentation standards

Requirements And Skills

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification
• Up to 6 months retail experience or 1 year retail experience preferred
• Strong English communication skills
• Basic understanding of retail operations and store procedures
• Customer service focused mindset
• Ability to work accurately with cash handling and transactions
• Basic computer literacy including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Honest, trustworthy and accountable work approach
• Problem solving ability in a retail environment
• Willingness to work retail hours including weekends and holidays
• Clear credit and criminal record
• South African citizen
