Craig Nobela Returns to TV With A New Acting Role After Genesis Ended. It’s always sad when a loved show comes to an end. It’s even more heartbreaking for the cast and crew members, who now find themselves out of jobs.
Unfortunately, even the greatest of shows, ultimately get canned. This is the case with Genesis, which ended back in April. The Mzansi Magic telenovela brought viewers tow families, the Sedibengs and the Thabethes , who were brought together by Gospel music and family drama. One of the main characters was Mmaarona Sedibeng (Gaosi Ratholo), a Gospel sensation, who faced so much injustice. Genesis Records, which she was signed to showed her dust. Mmaarona was also romantically involved with Bonko Thabethe, (Nay Maps), the heir to Genesis. Their relationship brought nothing but ruin to them and their families. There was infidelity, secrets, lies, in-law drama and every toxic thing one can think of.
Another notable character from the telenovela was Craig Nobela. He was cast as Ishmael, an upcoming Gospel star, who chased his dreams relentlessly. He fell in love with Nobuhle Thabethe (Kealeboga Masango). Ishmael and Nobuhle went through their fair share of drama, but at the end love won.
With Genesis over, cast some cast members quickly got absorbed by the industry. Craig is one of them, as he just joined Amalanga Awafani for season II. The talented actor is part of the Duma, and he plays Fenda. One thing for sure, this family is coming with all the drama and talent, based off its members.
Season 2 of Amalanga Awafani premieres on Monday 25th of May 2026 on SABC1.
