Skeem Saam’s Brendan Maphake Takes A Moment to Appreciate His Character Amukelani Hlongwane. A couple of years back, Brendan Maphake was just another content creator on TikTok. Great potential was seen on him, and now he is one of the talented young actors currently doing wonders on TV.
Known as @brendanmaps on TikTok, the content creator has over 664k followers, who loves his content. Maphake, has now explored another talent in the creative industry as an actor. He did not use his TikTok fame for his breakthrough though. In actual fact, Maphake went to the audition and was found worthy to form part of Skeem Saam’s cast. He made his on-screen debut in the SABC1 educational drama as Amukelani Hlongwane, on the 2nd of February 2024.
Amukelani is Dr Hlongwane’s son, who goes to school at Turf High. His arrival caused a stir, leaving the girls smitten and all the boys feeling intimidated. Amukelani’s impact on Skeem Saam has grown over the years, something that makes Brendan all proud. He appreciates playing the character, and the effect it has had on him.
