Clicks Group is looking for Shop Assistant Cashiers to join their Douglas Shopping Centre store in the Northern Cape. This permanent role focuses on delivering excellent customer service while supporting point of sale (POS) operations and merchandising activities. Shop Assistants Cashiers act as brand ambassadors, ensuring a positive in-store experience through efficient handling of transactions, promoting promotions, and maintaining store standards. The role combines customer interaction, cash handling, and merchandising within a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently execute all operational activities at the point of sale, including scanning merchandise and collecting payments
• Ensure safe handling of cash and accurate transactions at all times
• Promote the Clicks clubcard, enrolling new members to achieve participation targets
• Inform customers about ongoing promotions to enhance sales and ensure a positive shopping experience
• Maintain merchandising and general housekeeping duties according to store and visual standards
• Deliver superior customer service by being visible, friendly, and professional
• Stay updated on products, ranges, promotions, and events to provide accurate information to customers

Knowledge and Skills

• Basic maths calculations and numeracy skills
• Understanding of retail/FMCG operations, merchandising, and stock management procedures
• Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills
• Planning and organising abilities to manage daily tasks efficiently
• Computer literacy for POS and store operations
