Nelisiwa Sibiya has just shed some light on that with some of her experience on Ithonga.`The award winning actress, musician and entrepreneur plays ZamaHlobo Ntando in the hit Mzansi Magic telenovela. Zama is a villain, and Nelisiwe nails the role to the core. Her performance has earned her recognition, with major award nominations. Nelisiwe was recently nominated for Best Actress in a TV Series at the National Film and TV Awards 2025.
Taking to social media, Nelisiwe expressed gratitude for the feedback she gets from viewers. She also shared some scenes, revealing that she wasn’t well when shooting them. Nelisiwe said she was hospitalized for anxiety, depression, panic attack and fatigue. She also shared tat she going through a lot outside of work. The production team, however, were with her every minute of recovery.

I think I went too hard on myself plus I was just going through a lot outside of work 🥹 but thank you to the production team they were with me every minute recovering.
