Job Overview

The role focuses on providing efficient pharmaceutical care services and maintaining operational excellence in the dispensary. The Pharmacist Assistant will work under the supervision of a qualified pharmacist to ensure compliance with Clicks’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Key Job Objectives

  • Deliver high standards of customer service and care
  • Manage stock control and administration, including repacking medicines
  • Handle dispensary administration efficiently
  • Ensure accurate compounding of medicines
  • Provide general health advice to customers
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and merchandise display
  • Support ad hoc operational requirements as needed

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric with Mathematics (Essential)
  • Must meet Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) requirements for the relevant Pharmacist Assistant level (Qualified, Post Basic, or Learner Basic)

Skills and Knowledge

  • Sound knowledge of health and OTC products
  • Familiarity with SAPC regulations and other relevant legal frameworks
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical calculations
  • Knowledge of MS Office and IT business systems
  • Ethical approach and strong sense of integrity
  • Effective team player
