Cape Union Mart International is hiring a Sales Assistant for its Tygervalley store in Cape Town, Western Cape. This is a permanent position within the Stores South division, posted on 30 September 2025 with applications closing on 3 October 2025.

Job Responsibilities

• Customer Service and Sales: Deliver excellent customer service using effective selling techniques and identify opportunities to increase turnover.
• Sales Targets: Achieve and maintain individual sales targets consistently.
• Store Standards: Ensure housekeeping and visual merchandising standards are upheld to optimize sales.
• Stock Management: Follow stock loss controls and ensure all outgoing stock/items are scanned and paid for.
• Transaction Processing: Handle cash, cards, vouchers, and loyalty program transactions accurately.
• Customer Relations: Build professional relationships, provide helpful advice, and report compliments or complaints to management.
• Issue Resolution: Attend to customer stock queries and ensure timely resolution.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience: At least 6 months of retail experience.

• Must be a South African citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of retail work experience.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of current clothing trends or outdoor lifestyle brands.
