Winnie Khumalo, Rethabile’s mom, passed away in January 2025 at her home after a short illness. The talented singer and actress was only 51 years of age. Winnie was laid to rest on Saturday, 18 January 2025. Industry peers and fans, came through to support family and friends as they gathered to give Winnie her final farewell.
Winnie’s death was a hard blow for Rethabile. The two were really close and did music together. The mother and daughter duo also supported each other in their individual projects. Rethabile recently had Live My Legacy celebration, all dedicated to her mother. After the show’s success, she thanked everyone who came through to celebrate Winnie.
