Kayise Ngqula Takes Us Through Her Education Journey As She Celebrates Her Recent Graduation

Kayise Ngqula Takes Us Through Her Education Journey As She Celebrates Her Recent Graduation. Congratulations are in order for Kayise Ngqula who recently bagged her second qualification from Gordon Institute of Business Science University in Pretoria. A year ago, Kayise enrolled with the institute to do a Board Leadership Programme.

The media personality, actress and media entrepreneur enrolled with the institute again a couple of months back. Kayise was part of the first cohort of the recently launched Executive Programme in Media Leadership by Gordon Institute of Business Science University. This is an intensive fourth-month initiative designed to equip African media professionals with the strategic and practical tools to lead with disruption.

Kayise’s education journey hasn’t always been as smooth though. There was a time she had to drop out, and there was also a moment, where she had to choose a dream job over pursuing her studies.

About 15 years ago I enrolled @university_of_johannesburg to study a BA International Relations. A major I had no idea I would end up doing but God had other plans, so I went ahead and trusted the journey, surprisingly I enjoyed how dynamic this degree was. At the end of my 2nd year I got excluded because I did not do well in my final year end exams, the pain of a broken family structure and the reality that my education could no longer be funded by my family was a major setback. There was no other immediate solution but for me to enter the job market as an unqualified but equally ambitious young black woman with colour dreams of one day becoming a media mogul. In 2017, I single handedly attempted to finish what I started by enrolling for that degree but again, the Almighty had plans I could not even fathom. That year I won the OPW Presenter Search, an opportunity I had been preparing for my whole life so I could not let it pass me by, because it meant that I could finally live out my TV dream. Again, my aspirations for education had to be put aside even though I knew that it was not the end,” Kayise said.

Kayise then concentrated on making her mark in the entertainment and media industry. She launched her own company called, KNN Media Group. The company is committed to being a catalyst of change through compelling storytelling. Amidst it all, Kayise has never lost her dream to level her academics.

Since then, I have worked relentlessly hard at creating a name for myself in the South African media & entertainment business and although I have not yet reached the pinnacle of what I hope to, I have been infinitely blessed to have received the recognition & acknowledgment of the work that I do that is purely founded on passion, resilience, audacity and the tenacity to believe that I could be all that I ought to be. I have since developed numerous creative skills and business knowledge that have sharpened my leadership acumen to take @knn_mediagroup to heights that I foresee being at the forefront of what it takes to build a sustainable digital multimedia company into the future. Graduating as part of the first cohort of @gibsbusinessschool Executive Programme in Media Leadership is testament to that. I remain grateful for a journey that is only beginning to unfold,” she added.
