Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is hiring a Frontshop Assistant for its Highland Mews store in Witbank, Mpumalanga. This permanent position is part of the LL Division, with a focus on retail operations. Job Responsibilities

• Stock Management: Restock merchandise, store delivered stock correctly, maintain shelf stock, and apply the FIFO (first in, first out) principle.
• Shelf and Display Maintenance: Ensure full product ranges on shelves, build and maintain merchandising displays, and keep all shelves and displays neat and visible.
• Stock Monitoring: Report low, out-of-stock, damaged, or expired stock to management. Assist with cycle counts and general stocktaking.
• Store Upkeep: Keep storerooms organized and tidy. Flatten boxes after unpacking stock and ensure security verification. Maintain daily physical upkeep of store and merchandise displays.
• Customer Service: Provide friendly, helpful, and courteous assistance to all customers. Resolve out-of-stock and general stock queries promptly.
• Compliance: Adhere to The Local Choice Corporate Stores operating standards, merchandising procedures, health and safety rules, and uniform policies.
• Team Support: Assist with training of new and current team members, loading and off-loading of stock, and back shopping as required. Report suspicious or inappropriate behavior.

Competencies Required

• Essential: Trustworthy and honest, strong client service orientation, good interpersonal relations, time management, attention to detail, accountability, results-oriented, integrity, initiative, learning ability, English proficiency (read, write, speak).
• Advantageous: Knowledge of merchandising standards, FMCG industry, working with planograms, category knowledge, and a second additional language.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• 0–6 months retail experience; one year of retail experience is advantageous.

Special Conditions of Employment

• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
• South African citizen or valid work permit.
• Clear credit and criminal records.
