Basetsana Kumalo Gushes Over Being Appointed Co-Chair for Miss South Africa. From being a queen to now helping search for one. Miss South Africa 1994, Basetsana Kumalo, has also been big on supporting the pageant. She is always makes it a point to attend the pageants, and is always there for other queens.
The former beauty queen, TV mogul and entrepreneur was recently announced, as Miss South Africa co-chair. She will be doing this job alongside Peggy-Sue Khumalo, who won the pageant, two years later in 1996. The two women are expected to bring vision, experience, and purpose to the competition, positioning Miss South Africa, not only as a beauty platform, but also as a space for developing leaders and change-makers. The move forms part of the organization’s new era of Miss South Africa strategy, which places youth empowerment at the heart of its work.
Basetsana takes this as an honor, and has promised to do her job with due care and responsibility.
