Young Professional-in-Training Opportunity at Transnet, Durban

Transnet Port Terminals and Academy is inviting applications for its Young Professional-in-Training programme in Durban. This is a two-year structured programme designed to give recent graduates hands-on experience and exposure to corporate operations.
Programme Overview
The Young Professional-in-Training programme runs for 24 months and targets dynamic, recently qualified graduates. Participants will gain practical experience through mentorship, structured learning, and exposure to multiple business functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Shadow staff and participate in workshops and meetings to gain practical insights.
- Communicate with customers to understand their needs and provide timely updates.
- Address customer queries promptly and satisfactorily.
- Provide general administrative support, research assistance, and project input.
- Take work instructions from mentors or specialists and produce specific deliverables.
- Execute project tasks efficiently, both individually and collaboratively.
- Produce high-quality work that contributes to effective project solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree, BTech, or Diploma in Management Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Financial Management, Financial Accounting, Business Management, or Logistics.
- 0–1 year of relevant work experience.
- South African citizen.
- Age between 18 and 35 years.
Competencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
