Thandiswa Mazwai Shares A Cool Historic Deed About Her Late Mother. It has been well over three decades, since the passing of Belede Mazwai. She was the mother of famous sisters Thandiswa, Ntsiki and Nomsa Mazwai.
There is a lot more to the late Belede, than, just having children who are big in the entertainment space. She was was a PAC underground activist during the 1980s, and made impact in her community. One of her most significant deeds was by assisting Mpho and Mphonyana Mathibela. The Siamese twins made headlines when they were born conjoined at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital on 7 December 1986. A year later, they were separated in a successful operation.
Together with Maggie Nkwe, Belede brought the much needed attention to the twins. As passionate community workers, the two ladies we instrumental in helping Mpho le Mphonyana and their mother get the best care. Belede even went to demand a free TV from some store for the mother of the twins.
