Nkanyiso Mzimela Grateful for the Shaka iLembe Opportunity. Viewers like to jokingly say if you are Zulu, and not part of the Shaka iLembe cast, then you have to question your talent. This is probably because of the exceptional talent cast on the series. One can think of the likes of Thembinkosi Mthembu, Nomzamo Mbatha, Lemogang Tsipa, Baby Cele, Dawn Thandeka King, Khabonina Qubeka, Wiseman Mncube, and Mondli Makhoba among many others.

The hit series has also exposed upcoming stars, who have shown just how much talent they have. One such is Nkanyiso Mzimele, the man many know from Isibaya. On Shaka iLembe he plays Somveli, King Dingiswayo’s troubled and insecure eldest son. Somveli went through life desperate for his father’s love and acceptance. This made him betray Dingiswayo and himself along the way. The betrayal saw Dingiswayo getting captured and beheaded by Zwide, at Ngome, near Nongoma. The Mthethwa Paramountcy was then superseded by the Zulu Kingdom under Shaka.

Clearly Somveli is a character not so many viewers warm up to. This goes on to show that Nkanyiso executed the role perfectly well. The talented actor and musician has just bid farewell to Shaka iLembe, now that Somveli is no more. Nkanyiso expressed gratitude to Bomb Productions and Mzansi Magic for the opportunity. He also thanked the viewers for having accepted him, as he plays the iconic, Somveli.
