Refilwe Modiselle Celebrates the Release of Her Debut Book With Close Friends and Family. She recently became a published author and her book is here. Refilwe Modiselle, has been doing media rounds, promoting her children’s book titled, Zizi’s World: Through her Vanilla Eyes.
The international award winning actress and media personality decided on a children’s book because they have always held a sacred place in her heart. As someone who has always advocated for albinism, Refilwe wanted a book that has representation for people like her. Zizi’s World: Through Her Vanilla Eyes, was launched this past weekend in a private and intimate event. Refilwe had her loved ones in attendance, including her mother and sister, Bontle Modiselle-Moloi, who are quite supportive.
According to her publisher, Lingua Franca Publishers, the energy in the room was indescribable. It was filled with love, tears, inspiration and pure joy. It was a celebration of a life journey, a culture of reading, storytelling and the power of authentic representation. As speaker after speaker got on the podium, there were moments where Refilwe got emotionional. This project is definitely one close to her heart.
“Over the weekend private & intimately with family & @linguafrancapublishers, before celebrating publicly (as per the saying you bless things at home first before you go out to the world), we officially blessed the release of my baby “Zizi’s World: Through her Vanilla Eyes,” Refilwe said.
Zizi’s World: Through Her Vanilla Eyes is now available in a number of bookstores countrywide. The Meet & Greet and Book Signing activities will take place on Saturday, 5 July, at Exclusive Books at Menlyn Mall from 12 pm.
