Memorial and Funeral Services of Legendary Actress Meme Ditshego Shared. A week ago, Meme Ditshego passed on aged, 60 years. Her death sent shocking waves across the country, as she was just doing a couple of weeks back. Earlier last month, Ditshego was among the industry peers, who attended Presley Chweneyagae’s funeral.

The SAFTA winning radio and  TV actress died after a short illness in hospital. Mama Ditshego’s conditioned worsened over a week ago, and she passed away on June 25. the news was announced by her talent agency, Eye Media Artists. Upon the announcement the acting fraternity, political leaders and the nation at large sent heartfelt tributes.

Memorial and funeral services details have been shared, for those who wish to pay their last respect. Ditshego’s memorial service will be held today (03 July 2025) at SABC Auckland Park, Gauteng. The ceremony will begin at 13:00. The funeral service will be held on Saturday (05 July 2025) at Alakasia Coommunity Hall, Pretoria. The service will be at 08h00 in the morning.

Ditshego started her acting career in township theatre, performing in a number of plays. Her TV debut came in 1997 with SABC2’s Afrikaans drama series Sterk Skemer. She also featured in Soul Buddys, Jozi-H, Muvhango, Kompleks and The Coconuts.

For six years, Ditshego played Josephine in SABC2’s Ga Re Dumele. She won the Best Actress Golden Horn award for the role at the SAFTAs in 2012. For the same role she was nominated again in the same category in 2014.

Ditshego has also been on Safe asHauser’s, Zabalaza, Imposter, Broken Vows and Ak’siSpaza, Erfsondes, Die Uwe Pottie Potgieter and The Mating Game. Her film credits include, Alles Wat Mal Is, Skorokoro, and Love, Sex and 30 Candles. Her most recent shows are Cobrizi, Entangled and Giyani – Land of Blood
