The Way Ngingakhona’s MJ Maponya Pens A Heartfelt Message As His Son Turns 5. Many may regard him as a player, who has broken a couple of hearts. Beyond that though, MJ Maponya is a loving father, who adores his son to bits.
The reality show star and fitness fanatic became a public figure as a cast member of The Way Ngingakhona season I, back in March 2020. He together with Inno Matijane and Tholang Motsumi took viewers through their life journey, colorful love lives and revealing moments of pride and struggles faced by the LGBTQI+ community for two season. Season II, The Way Ngingakhona, introduced another transgender Elle, who came through with more drama.
During his stay on the show, MJ was expecting a son with his partner. Eventually he was born, much to the delight of his parents. Today, the little boy turns 5 years, and MJ took to social media to celebrate the milestone, He also opened up about the challenges he has faced in his fatherhood journey, and how his son has made his life worth living.
“On the 4th of June, 2020, as the world stood still due to COVID 19, I waited patiently out of the hospital in the cold for over 12 hours, eager to meet you. And finally on the 5th of June, 2020, at 13:13 i heard your first cry as you arrived and changed my life forever. Though things haven’t always been easy ever since your mother and I separated you’ve been my constant source of strength, through out my journey filled with tough times and tough decisions I’ve made good and bad you’ve been my joy and inspiration I love you more than words can express. Happy Birthday, my beloved son. Love always, Dad ❤️,” MJ said.
