Sad Note: Thuli Madonsela’s Husband Richard Edward Foxton Passes Away. Our heartfelt condolences go out to former public protector Thuli Madonsela, who has just lost her husband. Richard Edward Foxton, affectionately known as Dick or “Mr Foxton”, has died at the age of 82.

The Thuli Madonsela Foundation has released a statement announcing the sad news. Foxton passed away peacefully in his bed, according to the statement. He is remembered a beloved husband to her now widowed wife Proffesor Madonsela. Hew was also a great father, a loving grandfather of nine, and visionary founder of the his firm, Foxton Communicating. The firm set new standards in the communication sector, as it was innovative and committed to ethical, transparent and effective communication.

Foxton was also an avid sport and nature lover, who followed South African rugby and cricket. He was also a devoted Christian, showing outstanding qualities such as generosity. Foxton showed this through his philanthropy work, supporting numerous causes. He was also a founding patron of the Thuli Madonsela Foundation, and his support for the foundation will be remembered as a lasting part of his legacy.

His memorial service will be held at the Rosebank Catholic Church on Friday at 2pm. This will be followed by a celebration of his life at the Bryanston Country Club.
