This is because he always gets the personalities we least expect. He shocked many a couple of months back, when he managed to sit down with EFF leader Julius Malema on an awkward date.
Since the, Lasizwe has been getting top celebrities on Awkward Dates. The likes of Zozibini Tunzi, Mpho Popps, Sol Phenduka, Asavela Mqokiyana and Uyanda Hlangabezo, are some of his latest guests on the show. A few days back he asked Sizwe Dhlomo to be one of his dates, but the media personality politely declined.
This did not dampen Lasizwe’s spirits though. The multi-talented entertainer is still bagging well known personalities on his show. He just had a date with Ugandan journalist and media personality Simon Kaggwa Njala. Many know him as the interviewer in the viral why are you gay interview. Hi face is on gifs and has appeared on a number of memes. Njala also allegedly supports the criminalization of queer people in his home country of Uganda.
On the clips that Lasizwe said, Njala is asking him why he is gay, and his face shows that he is not impressed. Some members of the LGBTQ+ community and their supporters are not happy with Lasizwe inviting such a man on his show. They cite that Njala is homophobic, and should not be given such a platform. They are also sad that this is happening on pride month.
