Social Media Weighs In On Scotts Maphuma’s Apology

Social Media Weighs In On Scotts Maphuma’s Apology. There is a thin line between boundaries, and to angrily dismiss people. It seems like in his efforts to have his personal space protected, Scotts Maphuma stepped on the toes of many of his fans.
This started when the Amapiano hit maker dismissed fans who wanted pictures with him. He has in numerous occasions maintained his stance, that he doesn’t feel obligated to take photos with every fan. Scotts recently had an interview on L-Tido’s podcast, where he stood by his words. He argued that, as a celebrity, he doesn’t feel entitled and he doesn’t understand why some fans behave as if they are.
“No one forced me to be a celebrity. I make music for the people. If I don’t feel like taking a picture, then I don’t feel like it.”
“I don’t owe it to anyone. No one got me to where I am, and no one can take anything away from me except God,” he explained.
This angered fans, and they took to social media to troll him on his behavior. Things got worse when Scotss was ignored by revelers at the Cotton Fest event. No one moved when he took the stage, up until he left. He was getting cancelled fast, and so his career go downhill in just a few days.
After all this Scott has found his error, and thus apologized to South Africans. He stated on DJ Maphorisa’s Instagram live that he doesn’t have an attitude and that the situation was simply a misunderstanding. He also expressed his love and appreciation for his fans. As the saying goes, To err is human; to forgive, divine. There are those who have chosen to forgive Scotts, and feel he will do better next time.
