“I Continue to Fight Against This Injustice,” Miss World 1974 Anneline Kriel On Farm Murders

“I Continue to Fight Against This Injustice,” Miss World 1974 Anneline Kriel On Farm Murders. Recently, American actress Viola Davis shared her views on the White Genocide narrative. As someone who has been in SA several times, Viola has denounced the narrative as misleading and harmful. She threw her support behind South Africans, calling for a truthful reckoning with the country’s racial history.

Sadly, not so many local influential public figures have boldly come out to discuss the issue. This has caused frustrations on the general public, who feel celebrities only engage on things beneficial to them. There are however, some, who are bold enough to share their opinions. One such is former Miss World, actress and activist Anneline Kriel.

Kriel has been using her voice to advocate against farm murders in South Africa for years. Reacting to President Cyril Ramaphosa and President Donald Trump meeting on the issue, she feels that the farm murders were overlooked and minimized.

It is with great sadness that I watched the press conference of President Trump and the South African delegation including President Ramaphosa. The way they minimized and overlooked the importance of the horrific cruel murders of innocent white farmers was shameful,” she shared on X.

Although some people thanked her for speaking out, there are those who directed her to the fact that, even blacks get murdered. However, Kriel vows to continue fighting, until the violence ends.

She stated, “In 2017, I stood against farm murders in South Africa. This was a turning point in my activism, and I remember feeling frustrated that such a tragedy was happening in our country. Even now, I continue to fight against this injustice. I hope that my efforts and those of others will one day help bring an end to the violence.”
