Pastor Timothy Omotoso Found Not Guilty of Rape and Human Trafficking

Pastor Timothy Omotoso Found Not Guilty of Rape and Human Trafficking. Today was Judgment Day for rape-accused Nigerian televangelist, Timothy Omotoso, eight years after he was arrested. He has been in jail awaiting trial since April 2017 at the Port Elizabeth High Court for rape, racketeering, and human trafficking.
Omotoso is alleged to have groomed his victims and began molesting them from the age of 14. He was arrested by the South African priority crimes unit, Hawks, on 20 April 2017 at the Port Elizabeth International Airport. Together with his co-accused Lusanda Sulani and Zukiswa Sitho they were accused of 32 crimes, and have been found not guilty on all of them.
This has not sat well with many people, more so after the evidence that was presented in court. The State presented harrowing testimony from survivors, detailing how Omotoso allegedly used his position to manipulate young women into sexual acts, some as young as 14 years old.
