“Not Me Crying Watching My Own Death,” Bonko Khoza Mourns His iThonga Character Sanele

“Not Me Crying Watching My Own Death,” Bonko Khoza Mourns His iThonga Character Sanele. It’s been a couple of episodes in, but iThonga is already a hit show. The thrilling drama is about love, brotherhood, and the unbreakable bond of twins.

The lead actor is Bonko Khoza, who has assumed the roles of twin brothers, Sanele and Banele. He has played twins before, so this is just a walk in the park for him. Banele and Sanele are identical twins, but they are different in character. One is loved by people because of his good deeds, and the other does bad things, that people hate. Despite their differences they have this connection that only twins can explain.

The iThonga storyline is really keeping viewers on their toes, as already one of the twin brothers Banele has passed away. Social media is still mourning his death, with many viewers saying it hit them hard. Bonko is also feeling the same thing. The award winning actor and voice-over artists shared on his X account that he cried, while watching his character’s death.

Not me crying watching my own death. Eish #IthongaMzansi,” Bonko said.

When their sister asked why the family is not mourning Banele, the uncle clarified that he isn’t truly dead because his spirit lives on through Sanele. He will only be ‘dead’, when his twin brother Sanele dies. This explains the word, iThonga, which refers to someone who is believed to be dead but continues to exist in the world of the ancestors.
