The great thing is that times has changed, and so has people’s mindsets. Instead of judging others by their physical appearances, we now take time to know the person they are inside. Besides, most are the way they are by choice, it can be something they are born with, something that developed as they grow older or just accidents.
How heartwarming is it that despite certain conditions or unforeseen circumstances, we have individuals who are thriving in the entertainment industry. One such is Leleti Khumalo, a veteran actress, who has been in the industry for years. Mam’ Leleti has vitiligo, a condition that destroys skin pigment cells, causing the loss of skin color in blotches. This happens because the cells that make pigment (color) in the skin are destroyed. Despite this, she still bags acting gigs, and is the ambassador of Dove, which celebrates all types of skin.
There is also Kayise Ngqula, whose life changed in June 2019, after a car crash. The media personality, actress and entrepreneur had to learn to live with her scars. Despite the changes, Kayise is still doing amazingly well. We also have Chantel Struwig, who was born with a birthmark on her face.
