Veteran Actress Zukisa Matola Joins A Hit Television Drama. We haven’t seen her in a while, and now she is back with a bang. Zukisa Matola has joined two shows, the second season of The Phoenix together with her former Generations co-star Dumisane Mbebe. The two are once again playing a couple.
The veteran actress has also joined the talented cast of SABC1’s drama Uzalo. Zuisa will play, Noma-Russia Mkabile as of February 15 2025. Nothing much has been revealed about the role, but one thing for sure, she is going to ace it. Another talent joining Uzalo is Selby “Selbeyonce” Mkhize. She plays herself and is a guest host on K-Mash FM as of Thursday 06 February.
Zukisa studied Speech and Drama at City Varsity from 1998-1999. She worked in children’s theatre, commercials and industrial theatre. Her break into television in 2005 as a series regular on the SABC1 sitcom Mzee Wa Two Six, playing the role of Fix.
Zukisa is best known for her lead roles in the SABC1 drama series Tsha Tsha and Tshisa. In 2005 she also appeared in e.tv’s soapie Scandal!, playing the role of Sibongile. Zukisa debuted on the SABC1 soapie Generations on Wednesday 16 March 2008, playing the role of Bridget Tshabane. She is contracted on the show until March 2008.
In addition to her work in television, Matola has also acted in numerous theatre productions including Look Before You Leap (Big Time), Don’t Think So, As If, Picture This and Little Bear.
