Her daughter Pey is also doing amazing things, making mom all proud. A couple of months ago, she auditioned for a role in the first staging of The Lion King Jr musical, in South Africa to celebrate its 30th anniversary. She nailed her auditions, and has been doing amazing things with the troupe.
Today Pey is celebrating her 14th birthday, and Melanie couldn’t be more proud. The veteran media personality is in awe of how her daughter has grown, and how she takes on her responsibilities. These include performing in The Lion King Jr, and supporting her big brother. Melanie also mentioned Pey’s outstanding qualities, among them, kindness, love, talents and depth.
“My big little girl 🥹 14??? I mean I get it, I was there when you were born 😂 but oh my, how you’ve grown in the last year… in an incredibly busy and challenging year, you put your head down and did the work – at school, with extra-murals, performing in The Lion King Jr, being a support to your brother, and so much more.
Pey, I’m so proud of your kindness, your depth, your talent, your love for family & friends, your relentless quest to have fun, and look cute while doing it; but above all the incredible young lady you’re becoming. You’re going to live the life of your dreams, because you work so hard for what you want – I’m just along for the ride!! ✨
🎈🎉🤟🏽❤️ #Pookie,” Melanie said.
