Lerato Mbele Bids Farewell to Power FM

Lerato Mbele Bids Farewell to Power FM. She has been with the radio station for a good three years. Now Lerato Mbele is leaving Power FM, and today, she did her very last Power Talk show.

Mbele came back in the country three years ago, serving where there is great need for some serious journalism. The veteran journalist and broadcaster was working for the BBC for years now. Mbele was the presenter of Talking Business Africa, a lifestyle business show focusing on prominent entrepreneurs and their business mindset in the boardroom and on the factory floor. She joined BBC News to help launch and present Newsday on the BBC World Service with Lawrence Pollard. She was also the long standing presenter for Africa Business Report, a weekly programme that provided analyses on different sectors of the economy across African countries.

Upon returning home, Mbele joined Power FM lineup hosting a talk show titled Power Talk. The show aims at connecting the dots of humanity, as well as remind South Africans of their connection to the world and also learn from the rest of the world. Now she is leaving the radio station, and she has nothing but gratitude for the amazing opportunity.

For everything. The learning & unlearning. Exploring & expanding knowledge systems. Growing and gaming. Lessons in leadership Laughing at ourselves and loving the country all in binary. Accountability & truth. Reimagining the future and patriotism. Thank you ⁦@Powerfm987,” Mbele said.

Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi will be taking over, as it was announced a couple of days ago. With his show, Ndlozi aims to demystify false notions of African-oriented faith and Nyangas, bringing fresh perspectives to cultural and spiritual conversations. He also plans to re-frame historical narratives, with episodes like June 16 taking on new meaning and depth under his insightful approach. Ndlozi will take over the airwaves from Monday to Friday, 9am to 12pm, starting on the 3rd of March 2025.
