Lekau Sehoana Makes A Major Comeback After Suffering Several Setbacks. He trended on both social media and the mainstream media in the past couple of months. Sadly for Lekau Sehoana, this was not for not so great news.

Lekau went from being an affluent businessman to being mocked and laughed at. In October 2024, his company was placed under liquidation and closed its doors nationwide. This was after a ruling by the Johannesburg High Court awarding a sequestration order to advertising agency Wideopen Platform for unpaid services worth R20 million. Another thing, Lekau’s Kiddies Republic in Polokwane closed down after almost a year in operation.

That was not all for Lekau. The DRIP founder was also dealing with pending divorce issues and eviction allegations. It was alleged that suggested he neglected to pay the outstanding balance on his monthly rental bill. Lekau allegedly defaulted in November and December 2023, and had almost R100 000 in rental payments. This ultimately resulted in the purported eviction, which left his son and ex-wife homeless. His son is also allegedly expelled from school after he failed to pay his tuition for several months.

Despite all this, Lekau is back with a bang. he has returned to the industry bigger and better with new deals and a new sneaker launch.

The past 5 months were very challenging.

After our liquidation, i had to attend commission of enquiries, my bank accounts frozen and Assets attached. Accountants, Lawyers, Auditors and Staff being Subpoenaed. I refused to let the crisis take over my life, thus I refused interviews about that process. Refusing to be the face of a crisis and giving it more voice….

The experience i gained can never be taught in any university. I went through it first hand and learnt a lot of lessons. Which prompted me to go back, reflect and plan a come back in a different approach.


And as part of the plan, Today i cut a ribbon at @officiallytape Store at Mall of Africa, which marks the launch of our relationship. @dripsportif only existed at 25 DRIP Stores, 6 Sneaker Outlet Stores (basically Outlets for DRIP). Which means every customer was there to buy DRIP. Now we exist in a world where we directly compete with international brands. A new challenge we’ll take head on and obviously with more lessons added.

Sometimes there’s nothing wrong with the aim, you just got to change the target.

It feels good to say, we’re BACK!!!!
