Zazi Kunene Reveals the Delay Behind the Release of Her Single. She is one of the faces to look out for in the industry. Zazi Kunene is a budding music star as well as a very talented actress. Her acting career began in 2017, she landed her first role as King Duncan in Macbeth.
Zazi then made her TV acting debut in the Mzansi Magic movie Emlanjeni. She played a young girl from a disadvantaged family who worked as a maid but wanted to study at the university. More roles came afterwards, including playing Nolwazi in the Netflix African original production Jiva! Zazi landed her first lead role in a short film, Moya, in 2019. The film received the Best Student Film award at the 2020 South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs).
One of her biggest roles is playing Sindi in Smoke & Mirrors. Her character was killed off, much to the sadness of the show’s fans. Currently Zazi is acting alongside legends in the game, as the latest cast member of Generations: The Legacy.Zazi made her debut on the soapie last month and plays the role of Alice, a displaced woman in need of shelter.
On top of acting, she also is into music. Her debut single, Ungowami, was set to drop on January 17. The single will show listeners that she’s more than just the many roles she portrayed on shows such as Smoke & Mirrors, Queendom, Shaka iLembe, Moya, Jiva! and Pinky Pinky.
Sadly, Ungowami is not dropping today as anticipated. Explaining the delay, Zazi said she and her team encountered some difficulties along the way. They have therefore decided to move the release date further. Zazi has apologized to fans, and remains grateful for the support.
