Ntsiki Mazwai Reveals Why She Might Shut Down Her Podcast MOYA
Ntsiki Mazwai Reveals Why She Might Shut Down Her Podcast MOYA. After being a guests on several podcast, and working for one, Ntsiki Mazwai finally launched her own platform. Through MOYA, she planned to have conversations with traditional African healers.
Months after that Ntsiki took a bold step by launching the MOYA Political Series. This innovative series aimed to breathe new life into political discussions by blending art, activism, and storytelling. The MOYA Political Series was born out of Ntsiki’s deep-seated desire to create a platform where politics could be discussed in a way that resonates with ordinary people. Drawing inspiration from her own experiences and observations as an artist and activist, the poet, musician, and activist, believed that art has the power to spark change and mobilize individuals to become active participants in the political process.
The reality of the matter is that these kind of projects need money. A few months after launching MOYA, Ntsiki took to social media asking for financial assistance for the podcast. She revealed that there was no money in the account, and asked fans of the podcast to help. The money was going to be used among other things salaries, equipment, transportation and catering for guests. Among those who came through for her was one of her guests Advocate Dali Mpofu, who sponsored the podcast with a phone.
Two years later, Ntsiki is still facing some financial constraints. She even stated that if she doesn’t get funding, she will be forced to shutdown the platform.
“Guys yazi I’m going to have to shut down MOYA if I don’t get funding. You guys are not supporting it, so financially it’s not making sense,” Ntsiki said.
