Lunga Shabalala Starts Off the Year On A High Note. While many of us are stilling penning New Year’s resolutions, there are those already executing them. A couple of our celebs have already bagged endorsement deals, and all sorts of gigs this January.

One such is Lunga Shabalala, coming through with a major magazine cover. The talented actor, TV personality and model is the January 2025 cover star of Man Mag SA. The magazine is all about ultimate lifestyle guide for the modern man, something that resonates with Lunga. As the cover star, he also got to share his story in what he calls a great article.

The past few years have been great for Lunga as he grew as an actor. One of his recent work is being cast on the star studded Netflix series, A Soweto Love Story. The show tells the story of the three kwaNgubeni brothers, who are given an ultimatum to either marry or lose their family home.

He also played Tebogo in Love, Sex & 30 CandlesThe Netflix movie takes us into the lives of four best friends in their 30’s as they navigate relationships, heartbreak and a shocking situation that threatens to tear them apart. Love, Sex & 30 Candles also stars Candice Modiselle, Amo Chidi, Gabisile Tshabalala, Bahumi Mhlongo and Loyiso MacDonald.

Lunga was also cast in the hit young adult series called, Miseducation. The story follows Mbali Hadebe, played by Buntu Petse, who finds herself on the cancelled list after the police raids her house and seize her family’s assets. This is all because of her mother, Brenda Hadebe’s (Baby Cele) corrupt political dealings. Embarrassed and with her tail between her legs, Mbali runs to Grahamstown University in Makhanda, where she strives to reinvent herself and escape her mother’s corrupt legacy.
