Lerato Mvelase Warns Against A TikTok Account Impersonating Her

Lerato Mvelase Warns Against A TikTok Account Impersonating Her. It’s a new year, but social media scammers are still using the same tactics from years back. They use celebrities’ names, images, and post content claiming to be them. Normally these pages, get a huge following, as they manage to convince fans out there, that their faves are the ones behind them.

Lerato Mvelase is among the many celebs, whose identities have been used on a number of social media platforms. There is a TikTok page, using award winning actress and TV personality’s identity. They are using Lerato’s pictures, as well as most of the content that she usually shares on Instagram. The person or people behind the page, even got it verified. Already the page is sitting over 13k followers, and the numbers are going up. The fact that it’ luring followers to invest, is concerning, because many might fall into the trap, and be scammed of money. Apparently there are 6 other accounts with the same name.

Just like many of her peers, Lerato has alerted her fans and followers on Instagram that the TikTok page is pretending to be her. A number of those who have seen the post shared in the comment section that they will report it.

Guys this is not me on @tiktok_southafrica 🙏🏾 this person is pretending to be me,” Lerato said.
