Kelly Khumalo Responds to eNCA Mistakenly Reporting That She Died. Often a times celebrities who share the same name, more so in the same industry get confused for each other. This recently happened to Kelly Khumalo.
The award winning musician, reality show star, actress and entrepreneur was mistaken for another singer and actress, Winnie Khumalo. The mistake was made by eNCA news anchor Shahan Ramkissoon, when he announced Winnie’s passing. He shared live on TV, that singer Kelly Khumalo has passed away aged 51, but quickly apologized and rectified the error.
Immediately the clip trended on social media platforms with all sorts of reactions. Upon coming across the clip, Kelly did not take kindly to the error. She took to Instagram saying eNCA was reckless, ignorant and disrespectful to her and her loved ones.
“@encanews you may hate me or even think very less of me, however this is very reckless, ignorant and disrespectful not only to me but to those who love and care about me especially my kids. PUT SOME RESPECT ON MY NAME 👏🏽🤴🏾🐆,” Kelly said.
Winnie passed away on Tuesday at her home after a short illness. She was only 51 years of age. Her daughter Rethabile Khumalo, who is also in the entertainment industry, has announced her passing. Details surrounding her memorial and funeral services, will be shared in due time.
