Hlengiwe Lushaba- Madlala Shows Appreciation to Her Role as MaMchunu On My Brother’s Keeper. My Brother’s Keeper debuted on October 2023, and since then, it has been delivering. The Mzansi Magic telenovela, not only has a captivating storyline, it also boasts some of the best actors one can ever think of.
One of those actors is Hlengiwe Lushaba-Madlala who plays MaMchunu Shabalala. MaMchuni is the family matriarch, and she does everything in her power to protect the Shabalalas. Sometimes though, some of the family members do her wrong, and she cuts them out. She even went as far as leaving her marriage home, after a hectic fight with her husband, Mshengu Shabalala, played by the veteran Lindani Nkosi. At the current moment, MaMchunu wants nothing to do with one of her sons Nqubeko. This comes after it was recently revealed that he is the one behind Thuthuka’s untimely death.
Although Hlengiwe has played a number of roles on different shows, MaMchuni is the role that out her out there. She was even nominated for a SAFTA, under the category of Best Supporting Actress in a Telenovela for the role. Hlengiwe doesn’t take playing MaMchunu for granted, and is grateful for what the role has done for her as an actress.
