Clash of the Broadcasters! Faith Mangope Claps Back At Redi Tlhabi After Criticism

Clash of the Broadcasters! Faith Mangope Claps Back At Redi Tlhabi After Criticism. Tow days ago, Faith Mangope looked in the issue of the Rand only responding to the Democratic Alliance’s commitment to the Government of Unity. The hot topic was discussed on METRO FM, as well as on social media.

She seemed puzzled that out of 10 political parties in the GNU, the Rand only responded to the economic model of one party, being the DA. The media personality clarified that despite her take, she has no problem with the DA. Faith stated that the party was voted because it excels in certain aspects of leadership. She however is questioning the Rand, as it somehow moves to the direction of the DA’s commitment to the GNU.

Faith also put the media on blast, asking her colleagues if they believe that the Rand id influenced by the DA. This sparked a conversation on X, with a lot of different views. One comment said the DA adds more value pro rata than any other political party in SA, by far. And the markets recognize this whether anyone like it or not. Others feel that Faith has opened a can of worms, and as such, she is going to lose her job.

Redi Tlhabi, a renowned broadcaster, journalist and author also chipped in. She came in guns blazing, not happy with what METRO FM is broadcasting. Redi insinuated that Faith went on air, without any editorial check and balance.

Oh Jesus Christ! Not this again. Where is MetroFM and @SABCNews‘s editorial checks and balances? Current affairs programming DOES require editorial checks,” Redi said.

Well, Faith did not take this lying down, firing a hectic clap back at Redi.

What is disappointing is that as a broadcaster you make assumptions based on little clips put together on the direction of the program. So let me educate you. This was a 30 min interview with an economist and financial analyst who was called to explain What influences the Currency of the country. And Yes Redi we need to call out any media outlet that does not objectively explain what influences our currency. I stand by that. PS: here’s the link of that interview https://omny.fm/shows/metro-fm-talk-with-faith-mangope/tafadzwa-ruzive-is-an-internationalisation-practit. Ask Don’t Assume. Do better,” Ouch!

The good thing is that Redi saw the light at the end of the day.
