Applications Open for the Jacaranda FM Receptionist Post. This role is integral to ensuring a professional and comprehensive reception service for clients, listeners, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate the central switchboard, answer and screen all incoming calls, and transfer to the relevant extensions.
  • Promptly deliver messages to the appropriate staff members.
  • Address general inquiries received via the switchboard.
  • Welcome visitors and clients warmly, offer refreshments and inform internal staff of their arrival.
  • Assist clients and listeners with telephonic queries.
  • Maintain a clean, professional, and organized reception area at all times.
  • Prepare, update, and distribute the station’s telephone list.
  • Manage the booking of meeting rooms and ensure availability.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks, such as email meeting reminders and handling deliveries.
  • Log deliveries, process invoices, and manage courier services for prize distribution.
  • Support various departments by assisting with office supplies management, equipment maintenance, and logistical arrangements.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Handle any additional tasks that contribute to efficiently running the office environment.
  • Actively contribute as a valued member of the HR team.
  • Positively support HR initiatives and station activities.
  • Take on ad hoc tasks as reasonably expected to meet organizational needs.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Matric (NQF-4) or equivalent qualification.
  • 1 – 2 years of prior experience as a Receptionist or in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and telephone etiquette skills.
  • Proficiency in English is essential; familiarity with Afrikaans would be advantageous.
