Anele Mdoda Over the Moon As the Film Co-Produced Under Her Company Bags An Oscar Nod
Anele Mdoda Over the Moon As the Film Co-Produced Under Her Company Bags An Oscar Nod. From hosting the Oscar’s red carpet to now becoming a nominee is such a full circle moment. It can only be Anele Mdoda, a giant in the entertainment industry.
Just six years ago, MNet engaged Anele as their host for the Oscar’s red carpet. As expected, the multi-award winning media personality, and producer did an excellent job. She got to hand with stars, and also slay the red carpet. This time around Anele will be attending (if she chooses to) the Oscars as a whole nominee.
The Last Ranger, a film her production company produced has just been nominated for an Oscar under the Best Live Action Short Film category. The film follows a young Litha (Liyabona Mroqoza), who is taken on a wondrous journey through a game reserve by the last remaining ranger, Khuselwa (Avumile Qongqo). Their journey takes a tragic and unexpected turn when they are ambushed by poachers, leading to a battle to protect the rhinos and ultimately uncovering a devastating secret. The Last Ranger, has also received more nominations on the international film festival circuit.
Anele is confident that the film is going to bring the award home. She thanked Cyndy Lee and David Lee for writing and telling the amazing story. Anele also extended her gratitude to Avumile Qongqo and Liyabona Mroqoza for their outstanding performances. She did not forget fellow co-producers Will Hawkes, Darwin Shaw and Kindred Films
“South Africa!!!! We have been nominated for an Oscar!!!!!!!!!!!
The Last Ranger @thelastrangerfilm is going to win it and bring it home,” Anele gushed.
