A DJ In the Making! Phumeza Mdabe Shares A Snippet From Her Blind Son’s Live Mix. Disability is definitely not inability. Despite being blind, Mpilo Shoba has always displayed amazing skills, and his heartwarming videos on social media constantly leave many inspired.

Just like his father, Shota Shoba, Mpilo is gifted musically. He is a DJ in the making, going by the stage name, DJ Influence. A couple of months back, he showed off his skills in Play Room, a children’s channel that combines education and entertainment. DJ Influence was amazing in the talent corner, such that viewers and the presenters couldn’t get enough of him.

His mom Phumeza Mdabe is without a doubt his number one fan. The media personality and actress, always hypes Mpilo, and shares some of his videos on her social media. This time around, Phumeza shared a snippet from Mpilo’s live mix on TikTok. From the responses, it goes without saying that D Influence is a star in the making.

“A snippet from Dj Influence’s live mix on TikTok last night,” his proud mom said.

Phumeza is also proud of her husband Shota for teaching their son how to perfect his craft as a DJ, and for being a present father. She also extended her gratitude to DJ Black Coffee, for supporting Mpilo in every way possible since he was a baby.

Mpilo was diagnosed with Bilateral Retino Blastomas, an eye cancer, when he was 13 months old back in 2014. He unfortunately lost both his eyes as the tumor did not respond to treatment. He is now cancer free, but sadly lost his sight. Mpilo wears prosthetic eyes. His parents Phumeza and Shota, continue to do all they can to make his life comfortable, and this includes finding him a good school
