South Africans Hail Lebo Mathosa the Queen As Americans Accuse Tyla of Copying Beyonce

South Africans Hail Lebo Mathosa the Queen After Americans Accuse Tyla of Copying Beyonce. It has been18 years, since Lebo Mathosa‘s passing, but she still has influence in today’s culture. Her songs still get airplay, and her fashion sense continues to inspire new age trends.

We also have another superstar, who is going to be talked about to times indefinite. She is the one and only Tyla, who has now reached global stardom. Her debut album Tyla reached No. 24 on the Billboard 200 in April. Tyla has won major awards this year, including a Grammy, and a BET award. She has performed at major events, among them the Victoria Fashion show, and yet to come, the Billboard Music Awards.

Sadly, with such global dominance, comes hectic criticism. Tyla, forever gets attacked on social media, more so by Americans. They pick on her for being proud of her Colored ethnicity, being an industry plant among other things. Tyla is also accused of copying American stars, quite specifically Beyonce. After a video of Beyonce rehearsing choreography for Dangerously In Love, many of her fans stated that Tyla’s whole esthetic comes from the album.

South Africans did not take this one lying down. They went hard defending Tyla with everything. Old pictures and videos of Lebo emerged, to show that local musicians have been doing this for years. Lebo was definitely in the era, before Beyonce blew up, it’s only that she was yet to reach global dominance.
