Nambitha Ben-Mazwi Named Among 20 Black and African Women Doing Amazing Things In the Industry. Her talent as an actress can never be denied. This is why it’s so heartwarming to see Nambitha Ben-Mazwi receives her flowers while she can still smell them.
So far this year, Nambitha won big at the National Film and Television Awards 2024. She was crowned Best Actress in her roles on Savage Beauty and Empini. Nambitha also aced her hosting duties at the Essence Film Festival in New Orleans, USA. Earlier this year, together with Dr Jerry Mofokeng, Nambitha was honored at Don Julio Oscar’s Viewing Party. Just recently, she had her Masterclass on Netflix, sharing her insights on strategically navigating a successful career.
Now the multi-award winning actress has received one of her biggest honors yet. She is one of the 20 Black Women who shaped and owned the global entertainment scene in 2024. Other women in the list include, Tyla, Thandiswa Mazwai, Keke Palmer, Tems, Cynthia Erivo, Lupita Yongo and Danai Gurira.
“They showed us that the stage is wherever they decide to stand, and the spotlight belongs to them—not by luck, but by sheer talent, vision, and relentless drive,” Leading Ladies Africa stated.
“What a beautiful surprise to end the year off, by being honoured in good company, as one of the 20 Black Women who shaped and owned the global entertainment scene in 2024,” Nambitha gushed.
Leading Ladies Africa is a women’s rights organization working to advance gender inclusive leadership, equity and economic justice for African women and girls.
