Nomzamo Mbatha Takes Us Through the Creation of Her One of A Kind Dress
Nomzamo Mbatha Takes Us Through the Creation of Her One of A Kind Dress. How cool is it that Nomzamo Mbatha rocked a dress that resonates with an event she hosted! She went all organic with an outfit that goes with the Earthshot Prize event.
This has been such an eventful week for Nomzamo. She hosted the Earthshot Week, alongside Australian conservationist and wildlife photographer Robert Irwin. This saw her welcoming innovators and leaders from all over the world to wonderful and beautiful Cape Town, including Prince William.
As the Earthshot ambassador, Nomzamo also had a busy evening at the fourth annual Earthshot Prize ceremony. This though did not stop her from looking as glamorous as she always does. The Goodwill ambassador, actress and media personality rocked a gorgeous Solar Citrine dress. Citrine color ranges from a light pastel yellow to a dark reddish orange, and Zamo went with yellow.
Nomzamo just took to Instagram, where she shared in details how the dress came about. The gorgeous dress was designed by Christie Brown in collaboration with EarthShot 2023 finalist Colorifix. Colorifix uses DNA pigments grown in bacteria by replacing the use of toxic chemicals to create colour for dyeing textiles.
“There’s more to this dress than meets the eye. It’s dyed using biological DNA pigments grown in bacteria.
@nomzamo_m graces the Green Carpet in this beautiful dress designed by @christiebrowngh and made using @colorifix_ technology.
Colorifix – an Earthshot Prize 2023 Finalist – recreates the DNA of colours found in nature to dye fabric. Its tech uses less water, less energy, and no toxic chemicals for a cleaner future. Stay tuned to see more of this magical dress at the Awards. #EarthshotCapeTown,” Nomzamo said.
