Mia Le Roux Further Explains Why She Bowed Out of Miss Universe Pageant
Mia Le Roux Further Explains Why She Bowed Out of Miss Universe Pageant. This year South Africa did not have a representative at the Miss Universe pageant. Our reigning queen Mia Le Roux bowed out, just a few days before the finale.
Days prior to the Miss Universe finale, Mia, suffered from severe vertigo. Since deafness affects balance, her vertigo got so intense that she couldn’t even stand without support. This went without saying that Mia couldn’t go ahead with the competition. She is now back in the country, and has just sent a message thanking everyone for their support.
“Hello everyone, I’m back in South Africa and wanted to reach out to you all. Thank you so much for all of your kind wishes, your support and prayers,” Mia said.
Mia also seized the opportunity to once again shed some light regarding her condition. She explained that vertigo makes one feel dizzy, and also feel the world is spinning around them. It got very intense for her, and despite getting medical attention, her condition did not improve. That is when she took the decision to pull out of the pageant, and make everyone aware of her decision.
“I wanted to be transparent with you and share my story. A lot of you would’ve seen the video that I made about vertigo, while I was in Mexico at Miss Universe.”
“Vertigo is a condition where it feels like you are dizzy and there’s a sense of the world spinning around you. It’s very intense and can cause major issues with your imbalance.”
“Mentally I was very strong, I was ready, but physically, my body was taking strain. I had to even seek medical help in Mexico City. And even after the medical help, my condition still wasn’t improving,” she explained”
“My message to you South Africa ❤️🇿🇦,” Mia captioned her video.
