Clement Maosa Bags His First Award. One of the best things to happen to a creative or entertainer is to win an award. From just being nominated, it shows that you are among the best there is, and winning seals the deal.
Over the weekend, Clement Maosa joined the growing number of Skeem Saam actors who have been winning awards this year. The talented actor and musician bagged himself a Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series award at the National Film and TV Award. These awards celebrate the finest achievements in the film and television industry in South Africa.
Clement was recognized for his outstanding portrayal of Zamokuhle Kwaito Seakamela on Skeem Saam. The hit SABC1 educational drama, which Clement stars in also walked away the Best TV Drama award on the evening. Other cast members from Skeem Saam who bagged nominations are Putla Sehlapelo, the man behind Alfted Magongwa character, who was also battling it out in the same category as Clement. Elizabeth Serunye, AKA, Jacobeth Thobakgale was in the ‘Best Actress In A TV Soap’ category.

Clement has been with Skeem Saam since it started airing back in 2011. He saw a notification on Facebook from SABC1 about the auditions, and decided to try his luck. Clement then traveled from Limpopo to audition and fortunately he got the role.
Over the years we have seen his character Kwaito, grow from being a school boy to become a top engineer. He is now married to Elizabeth Thobakgale, and lives in a double storey mansion that he build his mother. Kwaito is now facing new challenges, which includes a troubled business and the ups and downs of marriage.
