Bridget Mangwandi Makes History as Master Chef South Africa Winner. Congratulations are in order for Bridget Mangwandi who recently won Master Chef South Africa Season V competition. Nabila Shamshum (23), a school secretary from Johannesburg, emerged as the 1st runner-up, while Durban-born Chanel Brink (34), was named the second runner-up.
The cooking competition series is coming back with an all-new judging panel, who are experts in the culinary field. This is not only great news for Bridget, but it is also history in the making. The 20 year-old, has become the youngest winner in the franchise’s history. She is also South Africa’s first black female Master Chef. Bridget walked away with a whooping R1 Million prize money and a Master Chef trophy.
