Chidimma came into the spotlight a couple of months back when she contested in Miss South Africa 2024. Her name alone caught the attention of many as it didn’t sound South African. The attention escalated when the beauty queen made it to Top 10 of the beauty contest. Her being in the contest and how she got her ID got questioned, until it came about that somehow there was a scam done by her mother years back. Pressure was applied until she withdrew from Miss SA, just a few days before the finale.
Chidimma however, did not let that dim her light. She was invited to participate in Miss Universe Nigeria, and ended up getting the crown. Her win was welcomed with open arms, and she has been having the time of her life in Nigeria. Just a few weeks back, Enugu state governor, Ndubisi Mbah, appointed her the ambassador of Enugu. The governor stated that Chidimma is an indigene of Amurri, Nkanu West LGA, and embodies the resilience and determination that define Ndi Enugu. Currently she is in Mexico representing Nigeria in the Miss Universe pageant.
Despite all this, Chidimma’s problems keep on piling. There are new reports that the department of Home Affairs in SA will soon revoke both her Identity Document and passport. This will also apply to her mother. The new development on her case has sparked conversations on social media. Many are happy about the news, while some are not impressed.
