Petition to Prevent Chidimma Adetshina From Participating In Miss Universe 2024 Underway

Petition to Prevent Chidimma Adetshina From Participating In Miss Universe 2024 Underway. Making news once again is Adetshina Chidimma. The beauty queen who is currently in Mexico for the Miss Universe pageant is battling yet another demon.

A few days the Department of Home Affairs revealed that her South African Identity Document and passport are getting revoked. This will also apply to her mother, as they both failed to respond by the 28 October deadline to explain why they should retain their South African documents. On Tuesday, 29 October, the department updated Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on the status of the investigation, confirming that the completed file has been handed over to the Hawks for further action.

A petition has thus been made for Chidimma to step down from Miss Universe as a participant. So far over 700 people have signed, and they hope for the number to grow.

Part of the open letter to Miss Universe reads, “….we are greatly concerned about Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, whose mother Anabela Rungo, has been found guilty of committing identity fraud prior to participating in Miss Universe Nigeria.

The Department of Home Affairs in South Africa was prompted to lodge an investigation after the South African public outcry when it was suspected that the mentioned contestant may have obtained her South African identification in a fraudulent manner. Overwhelming evidence was shared on social media, where it was proven beyond doubt that Anabela stole the identity of a South African child.

The Nigerian Embassy granted the mentioned contestant a diplomatic passport which ensured a swift escape, granting her the opportunity to be a contestant in Miss Universe Nigeria.

Meanwhile Chidimma has settled well in Mexico, and has the support of many Nigerians. Miss Universe pageant is yet to comment.
