Mixed Views As Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane Resigns From the EFF. The Economic Freedom Fight (EFF), continues to face blow after blow as some of its prominent members resign. Just a few months back, the party lost its deputy president Floyd Shivambu, who has since joined Jacob Zuma’s uMkhonto Wesizwe, (MK) Party.

Now another member of parliament has left the party. Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane has just announced her resignation. The news first broke on social media from clips of her recent podcast interview with Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh. Also in the interview, she discusses her decision to join the EFF, her upbringing and her removal from office as Public Protector.

The former Public Protector, then shared a statement of her resignation on Twitter (X). Mkhwebane bid farewell to the Red Berets to rest and spend time with her family.

In my time of need, you fighters extended a helping hand, becoming a refuge for me over the past 12 months. Your unwavering support has been a beacon of hope, and for that, I am deeply grateful.

Now, it is time for me to focus on spending cherished moments with my family. Thank you for standing by me,” she said.

Is she joining MK, as many assume? Only time will tell. As expected this is now trending news with different views from social media users. Some are happy that Mkhwebane can now go and rest as she has been through the most. There are those who are upset that she has deserted a party that welcomed her during dark days. On the other hand, some people feel for the EFF leader, Julius Malema, as trusted members leave the party.
