Gugulethu Mzobe Makes A Return to Muvhango. Two years ago, the SABC2 drama introduced a new character that rocked the world of Gugu (Bukamina Cebekhulu). The interesting character, Rosemary, played by Gugulethu Mzobe (32), came as a scammer who planned on taking all Gugu’s hard-earned money.
Rosemary comes from a tough childhood and that’s why she scams people. Her mother died when she was young. Her father remarried and while he tried his best, her stepmom wasn’t good to her and her sibling. Rosemary doesn’t have a relationship with her family, and her girlfriend Nomasonto is all she has. The two work together to scam people, and they usually go for bad people so that they don’t feel sorry for them. This time around, they targeted Gugu.
After not seeing Rosemary on Muvhango for sometimes, she is back with a bang. The scammer turned traditional healer is back, now all we want to know is ; Did her calling transform her into a good person or are we in for another roller coaster ride?
“Nomvula is back on @muvhangosa tonight,” Gugu announced.
Gugu is playback theatre graduate, who has been acting from a young age. She started acting when she was nine years old. Gugu used to act at KCap, an arts centre in KwaMashu, where she learnt everything she knows. They traveled the world and Gugu finished off with a qualification from Wits University.
She started with Imbewu in 2018 and that was her big break. After years of being part of a supporting cast, for years and she wanted to grow, but sadly wasn’t afforded that opportunity. When Gugu saw it wasn’t happening after four years, she started looking for other opportunities.
Her wishes were met, when she got an acting gig on Muvhango, as Rosemary.
