Funeral Details of Tito Mboweni Revealed. It has just been a few days since Tito Mboweni’s passing. The former Minister of Finance and Governor of the South African Reserve Bank passed away on Saturday 12th aged 65 years. Tito Mboweni died in a hospital in Johannesburg surrounded by his loved ones, after suffering a short illness.

A lot of people have, and are still paying tribute to Mboweni. He is remembered as a humble man who interacted with many, regardless of their social standing or political preference. On social media, Mboweni entertained the masses with his posts. He loved posting his unusual meals, mainly Pilchards tin fish, chicken and papa. Some of Tito’s preferred ingredients were tomatoes cut in large chunks, and loads of garlic. Despite his success, Tito was also a modest human being. Unlike most of his peers, he did not live a lavish lifestyle of international holidays, expensive rides, or designer clothes. His look was simple, such that at times he got mocked for it.

President Cyril Ramaphosa is among those who spoke fondly of Mboweni. He remembers him as a man who served the nation as an activist, economic policy innovator and champion of labour rights, with a sharp focus on fiscal discipline and economic transformation.

For his funeral, the president has declared as special official funeral category 2 in honor of Mboweni. The funeral will take place at Nkowankowa Stadium, Tzaneen, Limpopo, at 10h00 on Saturday, 19 October 2024.

President Ramaphosa reiterates his condolences to the family and friends of Dr Mboweni Dr Mboweni has been accorded a Special Official Funeral Category 2 which will take place at Nkowankowa Stadium, Tzaneen, Limpopo, at 10h00 on Saturday, 19 October 2024. The funeral will feature ceremonial elements provided by the South African Police Service. President Ramaphosa has directed that the National Flag be flown at half-mast at all flag stations from tomorrow morning, Wednesday, 16 October 2024, until the evening of the funeral on 19 October 2024,” the Presidency announced.
