South Africa Mourns Another Legendary Actor Timmy Kwebulana. In just a week’s time the country has lost three legendary actors. A few days back we lost Sello Motloung, and he is yet to be buried. Just before him veteran actor Darlington Michaels also passed away, aged 78. Michaels best known for his role as Georgie “Papa G” Zamdela on Isidingo.
Now the entertainment industry has been dealt another hard blow with the passing of Timmy Kwebulana. According to reports, the iconic actor, musician and director passed away after a short illness on the 19th of September. His family announced his death in a statement that is currently circulating on social media. The family said they wish to see his legacy continue to inspire everyone and future generations. All other developments regarding the memorial and funeral services will be announced by family representative, Hlubi Kwebulana in due course. Kwebulana was 83 at the time of his untimely death.
He is best known for his supporting roles in television shows such as Fishy Feshuns and Mazinyo Dot Q. He also played Bra Vic Tau, founder of Shooting Stars FC, on the e.tv drama series, Shooting Stars, from 2007 to 2010. Timmy also guest starred in an episode of the Mzansi Magic sitcom, Chandies in 2012.
During his time as a performer, Timmy worked and traveled the world with jazz pianist, Abdullah Ibrahim in 1977. He toured with a band called Meropa.
Kwebulana just bagged himself a role in an upcoming film, called Homecoming. In the Christmas movie, he plays the husband of Thoko Ntshinga, who is also a legend.
